A Dallas native, Anthony V. McCrary Sr., wears two hats as he faithfully serves in the capacity of Pastor to his local congregation and Superintendent to the Greenville North District – all to the glory of God.He is the son of the late Pastor and Mrs. James W. McCrary, Sr. and is married to the lovely Lady Loretta McCrary. They are blessed with three children – Anthony II, Marcus and Allyson and two granddaughters – Aryona and Kaylyn.
Born and raised a “preacher’s kid”, Pastor McCrary received first-hand basic training from the school of hard knocks in addition to his formal education. His accomplishments include an Associate of Arts Degree from Mountain View College, plus accredited attendance at Dallas Baptist College. He was ordained in April 1993 by Bishop J. Neaul Haynes and appointed as Assistant Pastor of El Bethel Church of God in Christ in March 1995. He became the Senior Pastor of El Bethel in April 2000.
A man of vision, Pastor McCrary desired to build the Lord a new edifice. The vision was manifested in 2005 as Pastor and the El Bethel church family dedicated a new edifice located at 517 Helen Street in the city of Garland,Texas. Obeying the voice of God who proclaimed: “Greater things were expected”, the church was renamed Greater El Bethel. Pastor McCrary was appointed, by Bishop Haynes, as the Assistant Superintendent to the Greenville North District in December 2007. He works faithfully and gives all the glory and honor to Jesus Christ for the path charted for him, as his greatest joy is serving God. Pastor McCrary spends quality time with his wife and family. He and Lady McCrary take an annual sabbatical for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. They especially enjoy cruising.
